Test not thy friend!

Dear friends,

These days, copy-paste messages are flooding Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp, asking you questions to test your loyalty to your friend. If you answer yes, you are required to paste the message on your wall, or to forward the message, supposedly to provide proof of your loyalty, your following, your friendship, to the one who calls themselves a friend.

A true friendship is based on love. Love alone is the offering and the reward. There are no expectations, no compulsions, no domination or no coercions in a real friendship. Mutual respect and trust are the two legs that take the friendship forward. The very feeling of oneness in all friendliness is the essence of friendship. A person who wants to test a friend can only be a stranger in a friend’s disguise. Needless to say, true friends may be rare, perhaps only a handful if one is lucky! However, a sincere heart goes a long way in attracting sincere friends.
