The Malayalis have a saying – ‘കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് പോലെ വന്നത് കുളിർക്കാറ്റ് പോലെ പോകും'. It means that what (seems to) come as a hurricane will pass (you) as a cool breeze. For many of us, when the mind dwells on fears, or on anticipated problems, it works itself up to a frenzy. It makes mountains out of molehills, whips up apprehensions of terrible things that could happen, of plans which could go horribly wrong, and in short, worries itself sick. If one can stick to just taking things as they come, to live in the moment, as much as one can, life will turn out to be relatively tension free, and definitely much sweeter!
